Because unlike the ancient belief of each heaven containing a particular heavenly object, the quran implies on several occasions that all of the stars, the Sun and all of the planets are contained withing the first (Nearest ) heaven! So the first heaven of the Quran would basically be the whole observable universe!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12197967544854024599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423568316780078657.post-80084838053901879112018-01-18T04:31:02.178-08:002018-01-18T04:31:02.178-08:00The 7 heavens could also actually mean 7 parallel ...The 7 heavens could also actually mean 7 parallel universes, the multiverse, that is why we can't see them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423568316780078657.post-24579145245532201382010-03-12T06:56:43.401-08:002010-03-12T06:56:43.401-08:00It is right that people in the past held this view...It is right that people in the past held this view (the one you've mentioned), but that view is no way compatible with the Holy Quran, and no where has the Quran given this view.

Without going into details. It is against the very meaning of the word 'Al Samaa.Quran uses a single terminology السَّمَاءِ AL Samaa which is very broad in its meaning. According to various commentaries السَّمَاءِ Al Samaa refers to the sky above the Earth, as well as the entire universe.Mohammad Awais Tahirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11460128411357476542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4423568316780078657.post-79356480545653681512010-03-10T00:59:45.357-08:002010-03-10T00:59:45.357-08:00Simplest explanation is the best one: "Seven...Simplest explanation is the best one: "Seven Heaven" is simply an artifact of the Geocentric Universe that was believed in by ancient people. There were seven "planets" visible to the ancients: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The places where they orbit were considered to be "firmaments". Basically, transparent surfaces. Go read a non-religious book. These are all debunked ancient myths. This also explains why it appears in so many religious books. Quoting from wikipedia:

"According to Plato, the Earth was a sphere, stationary at the center of the universe. The stars and planets were carried around the Earth on spheres or circles, arranged in the order (outwards from the center): Moon, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, fixed stars."

Those transparent spheres are your seven firmaments. No miracle here. Just fiction.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
